Fetching free historical End of Day (EOD) stock data from Yahoo |
 |
The Seer Yahoo data fetcher is able to fetch free historical End of Day (EOD) data from the yahoo finance site (finance.yahoo.com). The fetcher can automatically adjust for stocks that have split as well as fetch free EOD data from a number of countries including:
Argentina
, Austria
, Australia
, Brazil
, Canada
, China
, Denmark
, France
, Germany
, Hong Kong
, India
, Indonesia
, Israel
, Italy
, South Korea
, Mexico
, Netherlands
, New Zealand
, Norway
, Singapore
, Spain
, Sweden
, Switzerland
, Taiwan
, United Kingdom
and the United States.
The fetcher can work in two modes, Smart update and Fetch history. Both modes can work against all symbols in the datastore, or a subset of symbols.
Smart Update will update the datastore with price data from the last date for each symbol in the store to the latest date available from yahoo. If no data is present (because the symbol is new), then a historical fetch will be performed, with the first date being the From date control, to the latest date available from yahoo. This option is usually selected when the datastore needs to be kept up to date after the market has closed.
When Automatically Adjust for Splits is checked, the fetcher will automatically adjust for any splits that have occurred for this stock during the fetch period. The split date and ratio are also fetched from Yahoo. When performing a historical fetch, data for fetched symbols will be deleted before the fetch commences. This is to ensure that all data has been correctly adjusted. The fetcher can cope with more than one split during the fetched period. |
