The Fractal indicator was first introduced to Forex by Bill Williams. He used the Fractal indicator in his infamous stragety called “The Chaos Theory”. Bill Williams defines the market as being chaotic and should not be analysed based on linear calculations alone.

This system example uses the Fractal indicator along side Larry Williams Alligator indicator. In most cases the system will take a trade upon a Fractal breakout. This is when the closing price pushes through the price value of the last Fractal.

System breif:

– 1 Hour.
– USDJPY.

Bar event logic:

```#Larry Williams Alligator.
my (\$jaw,\$teeth,\$lips) = Alligator(13,8,8,5,5,3);
#Fractals.
my (\$upperFractal,\$lowerFractal) = Fractals();
if(NoPosition){
my \$nowUpFractal = Now(\$upperFractal);
my \$nowLowFractal = Now(\$lowerFractal);
#Upper fractal breakout.
#If the close price breaks through the last upper fractal,
#low price of that candle was below the upper fractal,
#the upper fractal is above the lips of the Alligator,
#Alligator lips is greater than the Alligator teeth,
#Alligator teeth is greater than the Alligator jaw,
#go long.
if( ClosePrice>\$nowUpFractal && LowPrice<\$nowUpFractal && \$nowUpFractal!=0 && \$nowUpFractal>Now(\$lips) && Now(\$lips)>Now(\$teeth) && Now(\$teeth)>Now(\$jaw) ){
}
#Lower fractal breakout.
#If the close price breaks through the last lower fractal,
#high price of that candle was above the lower fractal,
#the lower fractal is below the lips of the Alligator,
#Alligator lips is less than the Alligator teeth,
#Alligator teeth is less than the Alligator jaw,
#go short.
if( ClosePrice<\$nowLowFractal && HighPrice>\$nowLowFractal && \$nowLowFractal!=0 && \$nowLowFractal<Now(\$lips) && Now(\$lips)<Now(\$teeth) && Now(\$teeth)<Now(\$jaw) ){
SellOpen();
}
}else{
#If the position has been in the market for more than 2 bars...
```PlaceStopLoss('FB_StopLoss_B',EnterPrice-(50*PipValue())) if LongPosition;
