I don’t understand what I am doing wrong. After my first opening of the station, it stopped working. Each time the same issue. Although logged in, the Trading Accounts folder doesn’t open. Has no plus buttons, so there is nothing inside (trading systems, variables, etc.). Also the trading system buttons – backtest, optimization, deployment and so on are disabled.

    Hi,

From the look of the image, you are doing nothing wrong. You just need to load in an ‘account’ which contains the system and other objects. When Seer runs the first time, it loads in one of these examples. To open one of the examples:

main menu, file, open trading account

Then browse to the folder contain the examples, typically this is documents/Seer then one of the subfolders. Select one of the files, then open it. You’ll then be able backtest, optimize, deploy etc.

    Regards.

Mmm, pretty misleading. I found them in My Documents\Seer\ForexMajors. Each one contains a trading system and is named like that. Their type is XML, so it’s not clear from the beginning that they match ‘Seer Account’.

    Hi,

The home folder for storing the datastore and examples is dependent on the OS, I should have made that clear. On Windows 8, the path is:

    C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Seer\

    while on XP it is:

    C:\Documents and Settings\XXX\My Documents\Seer

where XXX is the name of the user on the system.

Seer also allows multiple datastores (price data), and these are stored in separate folders if downloading via the FXCM wizard. As you point out the file format for Seer ‘accounts’ is XML and stored on your local machine.

    Regards.
